Garth Cottage - Guest House

Symonds Yat East Accommodation

Symonds Yat East, home of Garth Cottage, is on an unique section of the River Wye Valley in Herefordshire.

Garth Cottage offers accommodation as a small friendly guest house or sometimes referred to as a B&B located on the banks of the River Wye facing south-west, 500ft below the famous Yat Rock. Garth Cottage has a restaurant, residents bar, riverside conservatory, patio and comfy lounge with communal television.

All the bedrooms are en-suite, centrally heated with tea and coffee making facilities and hair dryers. We also have our own boat mooring, fishing and car park.

A stroll through the surrounding areas reveal many species of flowers, butterflies, dragonflies and birds, the Peregrine Falcon and Kingfisher to name but two.

Symonds Yat - East & West

The beautiful villages of Symonds Yat East and West, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire are two of the most well known in the Wye Valley. Approximately six miles from the town of Ross-on-Wye, the villages are a hive of activity and a popular spot for taking forest walks, canoeing with the Wyedean Canoe and Adventure Centre, fishing, taking a cruise with Kingfisher Cruises along the River Wye or enjoying a cream tea at Rose Cottage.

There is a traditional rope ferry, which is moored at the Saracen's Head Inn and crosses the river regularly, taking passengers between the two villages. As well as being a pleasurable experience, this short crossing saves a five mile journey by road. To find out more information on this beautiful area and the local attractions and events please visit the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean website which will be updated on a regular basis.
